10 best cafes to study in Paris

Experiencing a power outage or just wanting to get out of the house? There are several reasons that can compel us to work and study outside our “comfort zone”. If you’re a student in Paris, you know how difficult it can be to find the perfect spot to set up your laptop and get to work. Between searching for free Wi-Fi, an accessible electrical outlet, or simply a cozy space, the hunt for the best cafe to set up a temporary workstation can be challenging.

Paris, the City of Light, is home to many places with a studious atmosphere (and we’re not talking about libraries). From the traditional cafe nestled in a narrow street to the gourmet shop located right in the heart of a dreamy district, not to mention trendy coworking spaces like Hubsy, everyone will find what they’re looking for. Need a break? Many offer the chance to sip on a hot drink (are you more an espresso or tea person?) while being tempted by a pastry.

A stone’s throw away from metro stations or the grand Parisian boulevards, some cafes boast a terrace to enjoy the weather or offer a view of the Parisian canals. Whether you prefer a quiet corner indoors or a friendly spot for a meetup with friends, our team has scoured the city to bring you a must-see list. So, wait no longer and discover these 10 handpicked Parisian addresses.

#1 : Starbucks (boulevard des Capucines)

First stop at one of the most famous cafes in the world: Starbucks. Now, at first glance, this might not seem exciting, but the Starbucks we’re about to introduce you to is unlike any other. Located on Boulevard des Capucines, very close to the Opéra Garnier district, on one of the city’s main thoroughfares, you’ll be blown away by its ambiance!

It’s housed in a 17th-century building. While the exterior is elegant, its interior is breathtaking. Ornate moldings, gold leaf decorations, paintings featuring cherubs – it’s like having a real museum as your study spot.

Open all day, the space has been designed to optimize your productivity. Comfortably seated in one of the alcoves, at individual or shared tables, you’ll find outlets at every corner, and importantly, a wide range of beverages and food to keep your energy up throughout the day.

For our second stop, let’s head to a unique haven, or rather a “cabin”. Tucked away in a little street in the Marais, Café Jirisan transports you to Korea.

Here, you can recharge with lattes, either traditional or matcha, and the house specialty: soufflé cheesecakes. #3 : Léandres

At first glance, Léandres might appear as just another small café, a sight common in Paris, with its façade adorned with a few outdoor tables. However, what sets it apart is its unique offerings of drinks and dishes with a Colombian twist, paying tribute to the native country of one of its owners.

Opting for Léandres as your study spot means choosing a cozy atmosphere we all cherish. Wood, velvet, hues of yellow and blue, and an abundance of plants. In short, it’s a “home away from homewith a vintage touch. Whether seated at a table or snuggling into the comfy sofa, you can savor an espresso, a latte, or a fine sourced hot chocolate. We also recommend trying the local drink, ‘agua de panela‘, a refreshing beverage infused with unrefined Colombian sugar (panela). It’s delightful!
