As the third-largest city in France and the capital of the Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, <\/span>Lyon<\/span><\/a> is increasingly popular among the French. A city on a human scale that encompasses many different zones, its unique and incomparable quality of life is recognized by all. More and more French and foreign students are settling there for a semester or several years. Young executives choose the city to start their professional career or work remotely in a less stressful environment than other metropolises like Paris.<\/span><\/p>

After two years of very strong increases, the rise that Lyon’s real estate market has experienced is gradually beginning to fall. The price of housing has exploded, and banking conditions were not favorable to newcomers. It became difficult to find housing to buy. Therefore, they had to turn to rental, further straining this part of the market. Available properties are slowly reappearing. In order to regulate the market, a law has been in place since July 15th, 2022, that caps rental prices. It sets a ceiling based on the type of property and the district in which it is located. <\/span><\/p>

The average rental price in Lyon is \u20ac17\/m\u00b2. However, assuming an average living area of 30 m\u00b2, the average rent in Lyon would be over 500 euros for a two-rooms apartment.
