January has finally arrived, and a new year has begun. The entire Colivys team wishes you a wonderful year 2023 filled with positivity and health. If you are one of those people who have carefully prepared their list of good resolutions, we hope that getting out is one of them. Here are a few ideas of outings to do all over France this month:
👑 It’s time to celebrate Magus

Who says “January” says “Galette des rois”. This unavoidable appointment of the foodies is celebrated on the day of the Epiphany, January 6th. It originates from a Christian holiday celebrating the arrival of the Messiah (not Lionel Messi, we see you coming) on Earth. A few days after his birth, he received the visit of the Magus: Gaspar, Balthazar and Melchior. Epiphany is now celebrated every first Sunday of the month. If you also want to take part in this French tradition and taste the best “galettes des rois”, you can go to one of our favorite bakeries or bake it yourself!
👜👗📹 Take part in the Paris Fashion Week
Who says “January” also says “Fashion Week”. The unmissable event for all fashionistas around the world returns for a new edition. As in Paris, we don’t do things by halves, the city of lights hosts not one but two weeks of fashion for men: the prêt-à-porter from January 17th to 22nd, and the haute couture from January 23rd to 26th. Can’t make it in person? Most of the fashion houses present will broadcast their shows live! So, there’s no excuse for you to miss the long-awaited event of the beginning of the year.

🖼️ Heat you up thanks to culture

Who says “January” means “Cold weather”. At Colivys, we know that you might be tempted to stay home and watch the latest season of “Wednesday” with a cup of hot chocolate. But if there’s one month where cultural activity is in full swing, it’s January. So, what better way to warm up than being in a museum or other cultural venue? Many exhibitions and plays take place this month all over France:
- In Paris, you can discover an exhibition dedicated to the committed artist Frida Kahlo at the Palais Galliera or discover the adventures of Tintin at the Atelier des Lumières. If you rather like to try something atypical, visits and conferences in the metro are possible!
- In Lyon, come to applaud and discover the wonderful play “Les Faux British” at the Comédie Odéon Lyon. A show that has been triumphant for more than 15 years. If you rather like contemporary art to theater, go to the Bonnet-Abelin Art Gallery to enjoy the last days of the exhibition “…libre comme la figuration…”.
- In Marseille, the Musée Regards de Provence hosts the exhibition “Au bord de l’eau par Vincent Bioulès”, a tribute to the artist’s work and the Mediterranean landscapes.
🛍️ Winter sales are coming !
Finally, who says “January” says “Winter Sales”. It is one of the most awaited moments of the year. So, go from Wednesday, January 11th to Tuesday, February 7th 2023 to make good deals and start the year well. All the stores and department stores in France offer you discounts and exceptional offers.

We are hoping that we gave you some outgoing ideas for this month of January.
