The best bakeries in Paris

The baguette is one of the pillars of French culture: it is the honor of the national baking tradition. A recent study corroborates this fact by indicating that the French consume nearly 6 billion baguettes each year in France. So, we decided to make our ranking of the five best Parisian bakeries. You will be able to admire the quality of the bread sold but also the viennoiseries and pastries that will not leave you hungry and will most certainly please your roommates!

❖ 5. Le petit Grain

In 2019, this establishment led by Edward Delling-Williams (former chef) was among the best bakeries in Paris. Thanks to his creations, this bakery has awakened the Belleville neighborhood. The bread is delicious, and you can find pastries with influences from elsewhere: croissant with almond crumble or ricotta-clementine donuts. This wonderful bakery is located at 7 rue Denoyez in the district of Belleville (75020).

Open every day from 10am to 8pm.

❖ 4. Pain Pain

In this deco atmosphere of the moment, this hype bakery where you can have lunch on the spot thanks to its marble tables, is one of the trendy addresses in Paris. Renowned for its pastries (the famous cinnamon turnover), the bread sold is admirably good. We advise you to go there:

88 rue des Martyrs, 75018.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 7am to 8pm.
Closed on Monday.

❖ 3. Mami

Located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, this new bakery will have you “hooked”. You can find a multitude of perfectly made breads. You can also get pastries and products from the Middle East. New address not to be missed:

44 rue du Faubourg du Temple, 75011 Paris
Open every day from
8am to 8pm.

❖ 2. Mamiche

Two entrepreneurs, Victoria Effantin and Cecile Khayat, opened their bakery in July 2017. The latter has turned the codes of the bakery-pastry shop upside down, all with a promise largely kept: the flavor of tradition. We strongly advise you to go there to taste the specialties of this establishment recognized in the capital: the loaf of the house, the cookies with fleur de sel, the babka with cocoa paste, or the balls of gâche with orange blossom.

Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 8am to 7pm.
Closed on Monday and Sunday.
45 rue Condorcet, 75009

Located in the Oberkampf district (75011), Utopie bakery is considered the best bakery in France. On the pastry side, the Utopie bakery
offers creations loved by all: one of the best flans in Paris, a yuzu cheesecake, or eclairs with sesame slivers…

20 rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 75011
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 7am to 8pm.
